When do you use the Speedster Combo?
Foiling gives me some of the best sensations i’ve ever experienced on a board and now I get excited when the wind drops below 12 knots. I’ll take any excuse to hit the water and play with my Speedster Foil.

Why do you like the Speedster Foil.
The Foil works well in all weather conditions and is an amazing combo when paired with a 9m Mono in very light winds.

How does the Speedster Combo compare to other Foils?
What impressed me the most is that it has an amazingly early take off. It’s super manoeuvrable in extremely light winds without sacrificing the great stability provided by the Winglets. It’s the perfect Freeride/Freestyle Foil for all levels.

Tell us about the small Mast.
I’ve really pushed the small mast in shallow lagoons and crossing reefs. I’m really impressed with how durable the compound carbon construction has held up. It’s super tough!

Final thoughts?
The Speedster Combo is definitely the go-to Foil for all levels of rider looking for a fun, accessible and all-round top performer. It delivers the amazing flying sensation effortlessly and in all kinds of conditions. If your kite can stay in the air then you're guaranteed to get going.

The Speedster Combo is crazy good! It allows me to do anything I want and go anywhere I like.
No wind no worries! It is the ultimate light wind weapon performing in as little as 5 knots of wind.
It’s the only Foil you’ll need no matter your level of riding. With a little riding experience, the magic of the Foil comes into play, the incredible speed range.
Cruise, jump and play in the waves, the diversity of the Speedster Combo allows you to ride your way.

When do you use the Speedster Combo?
I first tried it in Tarifa on a light wind day and was immediately hooked. These are the best conditions to use the Foil in, and I always have mine to hand where I live in Rio for those seemingly ‘no wind’ days which are now so much fun!

Why do you like the Speedster Foil.
I like it because it’s easy to get going with straightforward handling. It also packs top performance and has a really impressive speed range; probably the most outstanding and unique feature for everyone to enjoy.

How does the Speedster Combo compare to other Foils?
I think there are lots of easy Foils available, but easy and fast is a combination I’ve only seen on the new North Speedster. It’s super stable and you don’t need much speed to gain lift, ideal for light wind.

Tell us about the small Mast.
Apart from the obvious benefit of being able to ride in shallower waters, the small Mast is less sensitive and easier for beginners.

Which is your preferred board to ride with the Speedster.
I prefer the Pro Foil as it has good volume which allows me to pump the board to gain speed and lift. The Free Foil is easier for beginners, that’s what it was designed for.

When do you use the Speedster Combo?
I like to use it where there’s not enough wind to ride my twin-tip. It really comes into its own in about 10 - 15 knots.

Why do you like the Speedster Foil.
It’s super accessible and easy to use. There’s no need to go fast to get lift. It’s smooth, progressive and tracks well through the turns.

How does the Speedster Combo compare to other Foils?
It’s a very easy Foil and perfect for every customer looking to get started and learn safely. It’s a totally different experience to race Foil which is unpredictable and needs speed to get lift. The Speedster is very stable at low speeds and great for trying new tricks like riding whilst sitting down.

Tell us about the small Mast.
I tried it recently in the Coco Islands on the 2018 Evo shoot. It was great as the water was shallow and worked well, but i’d still recommend that you use the full length mast in deep waters.

Which is your preferred board to ride with the Speedster. (Free Foil / Pro Foil)
For pure fun, I like the Free Foil without straps so I can play about and sit down whilst cruising. For distance cruising and longer sessions, the Pro Foil board is more comfortable.
Final thoughts?
I would say this Foil is the perfect first purchase for those starting out, and those wanting to have fun with a design that is strong, easy going, stable, durable and safe. It opens up those ‘no wind’ days to fun with friends in light wind. It’s great!

When do you use the Speedster Combo?
You can ride it anywhere, in pretty much any conditions. I love to use the Speedster Combo when the wind is light and steady. You can use big kites and enjoy the silence as you literally hover above the water. I use the Foil when I wouldn’t be able to ride on any other board.

Why do you like the Speedster Foil.
With a Foil you can kite in places that you wouldn’t otherwise have access to. I love that you can be out there riding, enjoying the landscape and water from a different perspective. It’s awesome!

How does the Speedster Combo compare to other Foils?
It’s a machine! With such little speed you’re already flying. The Winglets allow you to force the upwind angle to the max without loosing the edge. Overall, it offers a lot of control and comfort.

Tell us about the small Mast.
The small Mast is a very cool idea for those wanting to Foil in shallow water. I’ve used it in a few places that would be inaccessible with the standard one.

Which is your preferred board to ride with the Speedster.
I’m in love with the Free Foil. It’s as thin as a twin-tip and easy to transport. It’s light, has a large planing surface and low volume. It’s really easy to handle. The design is great too! I’m going to ask North to make a twin-tip with the same graphics.

Final thoughts?
In the beginning I thought that it would be just another board to go back and fourth on, but it’s crazy how many cool things you can do with it. It makes something a simple as going upwind so much fun! There are so many tricks to learn and you can get really creative with it. There’s no limit to how far you can go with it.

I’ve been having lots of fun sessions with the Speedster Combo for several months now. It is durable, well built and easy to ride. It is a great foil for learning, but is also a really fun and sporty foil that good foilers will appreciate. The wing profile gives this foil a huge speed range that gets you up and flying at really slow speeds and I find that I’m able to glide well through lulls and transitions even when I lose line tension in really light wind, but it also has really good top end control, so I don’t get overpowered very easily and can still maintain good control in high winds. Another thing that makes the speedster easy to ride is that it has really good directional stability and is easy to carve turns due to the winglets which act like fins giving you good control and tracking stability. The mounting plate and strut (some people call it a mast) are made in Germany of high quality aluminum and are easy to assemble and disassemble. To summarize: This foil is really nice looking, really strong, easy to put together and has great performance for beginners to advanced foilers. It’s not meant to be an ultra-fast racing foil, but even good foilers will have a lot of fun on this setup. Did I mention it also comes at a great price? :)
